Was out taking pics. yesterday of waterfalls on Shutter Priority taking pics. between 1" to 3" 3.5" and tonight changed my d7100 back to Aperture Priority and it and it keeps bouncing around in the shutter speed from the 3" to 1250 sec and so on. Is this normal. After I turned it off and on it would be fine then do it again! Any theory on this?? Thanks

So long as you are in aperture mode it will jump around making adjustments to accommodate a proper exposure for the aperture you set.

If you are going to be shooting in Aperture priority mode a lot I would suggest you go to the menu to set a limit to the shutter speed to not go slower than 1/60 sec - that's normal for most people to hold the camera steady without shake blur when using a "normal" lens. If your lens have VR, you may get down to 1/15 for say 50mm.
