Shooting the Moon

Tripod mount the camera. VR shut off. Zoom in and focus on the moon. Switch to manual focus so it don't move. Using your remote have the camera go mirror up the click again to take picture.

What camera body and lens are you planning on using?

There are a number of threads on here about it already, and quite a few blogs elsewhere. Assuming it's the "big moon" you're after, you're going to want a long lens and some perspective on the horizon to give you an idea of size.

have a look at these settings, you need a 300mm or longer to get a real close up, good luck and have fun

Heard all the talk about the moon appearing larger, so decided to try my D7100 and 18x300DX and this is what I got.
