Blurry phone when using action mode indoor

Hi,

I am new to D7000. I use action mode indoor to take photos in a party.
But I find out the photos are often blurry due to people move around when the photos were taken. I don't want to use flash. Is there any way (a different setting) to avoid my problem?

Thank you.

Set your mode dial to use "A"perture priority.
Set your Auto ISO function to use ISO100 up to ISO6400.
Set your minimum shutter speed to 1/125.

These settings will bump the ISO setting as high as needed to keep the shutter speed fast enough (1/125 or better) to stop motion to a large degree without using any flash. You'll have to experiment to find the smallest aperture you can use that also provides a good depth of field, though. I like shooting around f/8, just as a general rule, but indoors I'd be comfortable going to, say, f/4 or so most likely.

What's Horoscope Fish has advised, plus, use (if you can afford it) lens(es) with high max aperture ("fast" lenses, like 35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4) and setting the aperture to the highest value available (the smallest number). That is, if you don't mind narrowing the depth of field (DOF)...

As you get more used to your camera, you'll want to try using different shooting modes instead of the scene modes. You can still have some benefits such as auto iso but you can expand your options for different camera settings. Just keep shooting and you'll find out how much you can do with the camera. I found out quickly that just because the camera could be set to do something automatically for me, it didn't mean I got a good result.
