Self timer issue

Hi Folks,

I have got a problem with Selftimer on my D7000.
I have choosen the Selftimer on Drive Mode dial that shows the small Stopwatch.
Then in Menu C3 > Timer/AELock > Selftimer I have set my options för

Self-timer Delay: 5 s
Number iof Shots: 5
Interval between shots: 3 s

Everything looked fine for me and I was satisfied until I pressed the shooter button and discovered that
my D7000 took only one shot of 5 I havce choose.

I have checked my settings in Menu C3 once and twice but nothing has change.
As soon I pushed the shutter button the camera took one shot after the 5 seconds delay and then stopped
taking pictures.

Does anybody have an idea what is going on?
I am just confused I don't get what is wrong.

I have never tried that mode before and so I set my camera by your instructions to see what would happen. I was odd to start with and after I pressed it the second time it fired off 5 shots. Make sure you have enough light to fire it with the correct exposure.

Are you using the internal flash? I think it only will take one picture, see D7000 manual page 82. A hot shoe speedlight is not limited.

Otherwise, what is the shutter speed? It will have to be shorter than your numbers.

Also, in AF-S mode, the subject will have to still be present and in focus for the shutter to take any picture.

Like Wayne said, be aware of your shutter speed. In other words, your interval starts when the the shutter opens, it does not adjust for exposure time or processing time. So if your shutter speed grows longer than the interval, you miss shots.

Thanks a lot for all replays.
I forgot to say that the issue occurs only when using on board flash light.
When I closed the flash light camera shoot the spcified amount of pictures without problem.
However, in my opinion it should work as well with flash and without it.

After that discovery I used the Interval Timer shooting and this one works well with booth Flash light and without it.
