When the original D600 came out, if I remember correctly the full price was around $1999. Then when Nikon replaced it with the D610, that also had the same original price. When the D750 came out, it also came with the same original price as the D600 and D610. Jake
@BackdoorHippie was the one who said he wondered if the D750 was really supposed to be the replacement for the D600. But due to the D600's oil problem, Nikon came out with a quick replacement (D610).
What really concerns me is since Nikon is getting away from consumer gear and is supposed to focus more on pro gear, will the replacement to the D750 come in with a price tag in excess of $1999 and not offer an FX body for less?
I wonder how the D610 will be priced during the upcoming holiday season.
