Focus Lock Beep isn't working

Hope this isn't a duplicate. I tried to post this a few days ago but it seems to have gotten lost.

I turned Beep on in the menu but still will not beep.

What else could be wrong? I would like to hear the beep at this point. I also realize in AF-C there is no beep.

Seems silly to send a camera back for such a minor thing.
