Hello,
I have a D600 for approximately a year. And, I take shots but do not think I have take 10k shots in one year. So, every time i take shots. change lenses i have to clean the brown spots. But, there are two brown spots, on the bottom left side and i still can not get rid of those spots. I have cleaned the lens, the camera, air pumped it, and nothing.

I do not see a problem with my D7100.

Thanks for any advice.

If you you've owned the D600 for less than a year and still have your receipt to prove it, quickly send it in to the Los Angeles warranty center. They'll replace your shutter mechanism for free and clean your camera.

Have you tried doing a wet cleaning on your own? BackdoorHippie posted this link earlier last year when I developed spots on my sensor. Although I was hesitant to try it, I finally did. The wet cleaning removed the brown, opaque spots but not some really small, dark spots. My D600 was sent into Nikon 3 times for servicing, but upon receiving it back each time from service, the spots were there. I've always wondered if Nikon wasn't able to remove all of them either or if the shutter kept producing more and more spots.

In any case, if your spots are brownish, a wet cleaning might be able to remove them. It really isn't difficult to perform a wet cleaning especially after watching this video.

I would still send it in to see what happens. According to this this post, they started replacing shutter mechanisms even if it is slightly out of warranty. Not sure how accurate that is though.
The good news is that if they do want to charge you, they tell you in advance and you can decline that service. Just be vague and mention you have "spots on the left side" and I think they'll just replace the shutter and clean it up for you at no charge.

@hark: That saved my camera. "Thanks a lot. I bought the solution, swabs and did the respective maintenance on my D600, D7100 and D90, the D90 was spotless. I used the air blower pump. But, on the D600 had to use the sensor cleaning solution.

You are fortunate that you were able to remove the spots--and most people have been able to do so with the rocket blower alone or with a wet cleaning. Since you only had a couple of spots, I don't know if Nikon would have replaced your shutter. When I sent in my camera the second time, all they did was to clean the sensor and included a note stating that sensor cleaning can be done at home. Most likely they would have cleaned it for you for a price, plus I wouldn't be surprised if you would have had to pay for the shipping both ways.

Not everyone's sensor gets as dirty as mine did. Some people do a wet cleaning once then only need to use a blower once in a while. Hopefully that will be all you need from now on. :)
