I don't have the camera to try it, but what exactly does not work? You are pushing the +/- button and turning the wheel... So... is it that you can not change what aperture is shown on the rear screen? Or is it something different doesn't work?
Right, when you push the compensation (+-) button and rotate the command wheel nothing happens in live view. It works fine in viewfinder mode.
Sorry - your response to nict wasn't up when I started writing my response to you. I guess I'll ask, just to clarify in my own mind: are you holding the +/- button down when you scroll the wheel?
I just did some googling. I saw a similar question on a d3200. The solution was to turn "manual movie setting" to OFF. Can't try it. Not even sure if you have such a menu. Apparently having it 'on' lets you control shutter and iso, so maybe aperture setting gets disabled when its turned on.
That did it! I owe you one, the next time you’re in Grand Rapids I’ll buy you a Two Hearted Ale!Huh. Well, give it a shot. I'm curious to know if that was it.
