Hello.
I want to set my Release Mode to Self-Timer but every time i have to click release mode button - scroll 3 click - then click ok.
I wanna shoot panoramic photo with tripod with 2 sec shutter but its getting annoying to set that up 40 times.
Is it possible to set it up so its always on?
If i click Continuous H it leaves it on always.

Thx.

I'm not familiar with D5200, so I could be wrong, but read your manual. The regular self timer mode should only take one click to start it, using the shutter button should be no issue (then get your hand off of it while it times down). I suspect you may be using the ML-L3 remote... that remote menu does need more clicks.

Another way is that one of these MC-DC2 compatible inexpensive interval timers would do it. Most (not all) of these with same appearance are the same import item with different names on it.

Amazon.com: mc-dc2 timer

For example, the Neewer there. These are knockoffs of the Nikon MC-36 timer (about $160), identical in form and function. I have one for $20 with a Yongnuo label on it. Works well. Camera is in Bulb mode (manual). You would set an exposure time, say 2 seconds. And also an interval, say 10 seconds. And the number of total shots you wanted, say 10. Then it does that when started. The 10 and 2 second woulds give you 8 seconds to change the camera aim, and get your hands off of it to let it settle down for next shot. The camera self timer would not be used.

I'm not using the remote.
I set up self timer in the menu. i press shutter button and it beeps for 2 seconds and shoots a photo. If i press again it shoots photo without 2 second delay and setting goes back to single frame mode. I wanna keep 2 second self timer for all my shots without setting it up again in the menu.

I'm talking without knowing specifically about the D5200, but other models retain the self timer setting. You are using menu C3 to set it up, right? The remote menu will time out and reset.

I dont know whats C3 but i used the button near the right strap hole that looks like 3 window glitched. It has timer & remote logo.
Also tried with clicking the Menu button near the left strap hole. And locating self timer and turning on there.

C3 is the self timer menu, from the Custom Settings menus.

This is page 160 in the D5200 REFERENCE manual, which is more complete than the User manual, and is free from

Yes i played with that.
-9 shots is not enough then i gotta go to settings every 9 photo.
-4 seconds is not enough between each photo.
-If i mess up i gotta wait every shot till 9.

I feel sure you can specify ONE shot, and then simply reposition the camera and press the shutter button again. Then get your finger off of it so the shake can settle during the delay.
