my new toy has arrived

Well my D5100 arrived on Monday, I bought it from an ebay seller (ukbnsuk) with the 18-55mm kit lens. Couldn't be happier with it, or the service from the seller, still haven't had it outside because of the weather and my work commitments (awkward shift times). However the idiot courier signed for it himself then left it on the garage so I wasn't very happy obviously.

Congrats on the new toy... I have the same one & I am very happy with mine.. been shooting stuff indoors and out daily, some just a few, some days lots!! Learning everyday and I find the learning fun too.

I'm loving it so far, it's fantastic definitely one of the best choices I've made was buying a book called D5100 from snapshots to great shots, very helpful and it speaks basic English, not robot which is important to me because I'm very new to DSLR's.

You should get the seller to complain to the courier company though. Defeats the object of a signature on delivery if they sign for it themselves, plus puts you in a bad position as any loss could have been directed to you (albeit, you could prove the signature wasn't yours!!)

The seller has made a complaint and I am at the weekend

A friend had a TV delivered and they left it at the side of his house, signed by the delivery driver.
It was about the 5th time they'd done that to him (on various items) and he had enough.

Now he has two TVs as the first one'went missing' when he was not at home.
(He's auctioning off the courier paid replacement for charity).

Don't forget the eye-Fi card and an iPad ....

I got the same camera and the same book. Great minds must think alike . I am almost done with the book now and it's great. Hope you have fun. I have been getting some great pictures compared to my old point-n-shoot. It wasn't bad but I couldn't do the manual overrides I needed to so I'm happy now.
