Exporting Photos to Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

I want to export photos from my Nikon D5100 into my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. I know how to do so via my computer: export into the computer and then transfer into my Note 10.1. But I will be in Europe without my laptop so I have to do the transfer without a computer.

I initially thought I could transfer the photos to the Note via a flash: export from the D5100 into a flash and then use the USB cable for the Note 10.1 to transfer the photos from the flash into the Note. But neither USB cable (for the camera or the Note 10.1) fits into the flash.

How do I export photos from the D5100 to the Note 10.1 without having to use a computer?

Thanks.

A) get an EyeFI card B) Try using a micro SD card with the adapter.

This.

I got the adapter set for my Galaxy Tab 10.1. There's one for female USB to the Samsung 30-pin connector and one for SD to the 30-pin. Put the adapter in, put the SD card in the adapter and use a file browsing app to copy them over. (My Tab came with one called "My Files," I've also used ES File Explorer and ASTRO File Manager, both free.)

I didn't do any real editing on the tablet, but it was useful to be able to show the photos I'd taken on something bigger than the camera's LCD. On that note, Snapseed is now available for Andriod. It's no Lightroom, but it's a lot more versatile and less teenage girl-ish than a lot of other photo editing apps.

Here's an amazon link to the set I bought. Depending on who you buy them from, you can see the prices vary pretty wildly. I wouldn't go over about $25 for the set.

I normally go for solutions that do not involve opening and removing SD cards ...

Why don't you carry on syncing your camera with your PC and use some cloud solution to sync photo between your android and PC instead ? Using wifi

You could use cloud - dropbox, etc ...
You could also use allshare or any other picture/file sync utility available
You could also transfer by ftp

As he said in his original post

"But I will be in Europe without my laptop so I have to do the transfer without a computer."

Same reason I set up an Eye-Fi card for my wife so she could transfer to her tablet while we are out shooting so she could upload to Facebook.

I agree go with the eye-fi card. I have used it that way for 2 years and it works well. I sync it to my phone and then it syncs it to my tablet. I do it that way so I can send some pics via cellular service if I wish, and I only have it on my phone

I ended up buying a SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card (64GB) with adapter and put it into my Nikon 5100 digital. I took several pictures and then, after removing the adapter with the card from the camera and pulling the SD card out of the adapter, I put the card into the Galaxy Note 10.1. The new photos showed up perfectly in PhotoShop Touch.

I had the same concern expressed by someone about the repeated removal and insertion of the SD card into the adapted and into the Note 10.1. For that reason, I bought the 64GB card, which will allow me to take hundreds of photos and store them in the camera for several days while traveling through Europe before having to import them into the Note 10.1.

Leaving aside the foregoing, I like the idea of the
Eye-Fi card. I will probably give it a try.

hi,

I have Canon 20D which I'm trying to connect to my Galaxy note 10.1 and export the photos.
I have a USB+card reader which I connect to the camera & tablet, I can see that the camera is connected, but I can not see or access the files within. The camera is set on PTP connectivity.
I have tried different apps, but so far could not manage this.
Appreciate some advise

Thanks

Not sure how his profile would help with this....

I'd try to transfer them to a USB/thumb drive then import them to the Galaxy.
