That's what reflashing back to stock is for ;)

Unlike today's phone manufacturers, Nikon definitely doesn't implement any flash counters or markers since FW hacking is next to minimal and FW updates don't come out in dozens every month.

Inferior or not, they last all the same from my experience. If each has a slightly shorter charge or total life, well, I can have 4-5 for each 1 genuine, so I don't see it even as a potential issue.

I bought a few for my Sony camcorder and Droid X mobile. I found I got what I paid for. If the they work for you, all good

They can be hit or miss, but using 2 at a time in the cheap dual grip gets me active 3-4 days of shooting or lazy 2 weeks.

Quite frankly- if there was at least a cheap-o grip that ate AAs, I wouldn't even bother with these stupid liths altogether, but until 51's shutter dies or something else happens and I'm forced to upgrade to 7 something or into the triple digits, quite stuck with this workaround.

According to this link, it is possible to also remove the D3100 battery check, but as yet that's about all you can do with the D3100 firmware. But there are already 'unlocked' batteries that work

Nikon-Patch

And, if you look hard enough can also find decoded batteries that don't need this firmware hack (and are also a larger capacity) so you can also now have a spare instead of having to buy a battery grip (if you don't have one yet). But a dying battery and having to change it in the middle of a shoot wouldn't be very helpful though

Try searching Amazon UK for DSTE EN-EL14 1350mAh

I bought something similar a couple of months ago but the seller wasn't allowed to ship outside China (apparently the China post office refused to ship to some countries and UK was one of them so I got a refund). Shame really as I wanted to see how good they really were before I bought another one

Well, one of my chinese stock style/cap ones lasted me a whole day of shooting blossoms on tuesday. And that's with a good amount of chimping with display on 0 brightness vs my usual -3. So they last about as much as the genuine ones, but having 3 more in the bag definitely helps.
