Unable to review Meta Data in Camera

Hello!

I upgraded to D5100. However, unlike my earlier D60, I am not able to review the Metadata/Exif (Histogram, Shutter Speed, Aperture etc) by pressing the Up button, as mentioned in Page 26 of the User Manual. I shoot in RAW.

Could you please tell me how to go about it.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Did you try the down button on the multi-selector? Maybe...? I'm not sure about this since I don't have that particular model.

There is a really good Reference Manual available for the D5100 from Nikon. It is a free download at:

http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/noprint/D5100_ENnoprint.pdf

When you download this PDF file to your computer, simply make a shortcut to it on your desktop. Then, you can view it and have your camera in your hands as you explore the many options, and learn how to use your camera. This Reference Manual is much handier than the user Manual, if used as I suggest.

The answer(s) to your question can be found on page 124 of this Reference Manual.

Enjoy your camera!

@ Ozarkite: Thanks! I have tried the options mentioned on page 124. Pressing the "Left" & "Right" Buttons helps in moving from one Photograph to another. However on pressing the "Up" or "Down" key nothing happens - It keeps displaying the Photographs as if the keys have not been pressed.

@ Marcel: Thanks! I did try the "Down" button too. But simply no response.

Then maybe have a look in the menu the one with the arrow (review menu) and see if there is an option to activate or de-activate this function. This is the only thing I can think of for the moment. Hopefully you'll find the culprit soon.

@ Ozarkite: Thanks! Problem Solved. Yes reading the Page once again I referred to Page 150 and had to set the "Playback Display Options".

Cheers!

@ Marcel: Yes! Ozarkite's reply pointed to the same - Page 150 for enabling / disabling the "Playback Display Options".

Thanks to both of you!

Soumya, I also have the 5100 and it works on mine... I get 6 different screens with mine including EXIF and Histograms..

Check your MENU settings, Under PLAYBACK is Display Options.. You can select what like EXIF, Histograms etc or NONE.. yours may be set to NONE..

Let me know if that solves it..
