Hi Guys/Gals,

Would you have to be mad to buy a used D500 with a shutter count above 320K ::what::; even if the price was more than competitive?

I'd add the cost of a new shutter to the price and see if it is still a good deal considering the age of the camera and overall condition.
My preference would be to look for a deal with a lower shutter count.

I seem to recall there was someone on here that had a D500 with a higher shutter count than that and it was still going strong.
As you are in the UK, you could buy a new one for £1039 from E-Infinity (that's where I bought mine but got it when the price was lower), so I don't think I would go above £600 for one with that high a shutter count on it. As Dawg Pics stated you do have to consider the possibility of the shutter going in the near future.

It might have been @wev - I think he mentioned having a high shutter count in the past.

The shutter died on my D500 at around 350,000, if I remember correctly. And, Nikon replaced it for something around $300. It's still going strong. :)

@wev; I would think that Nikon might be interested in hearing of the longevity of your shutter (obviously the opposite of a Friday afternoon car;)).
