Love my D500 but not at all happy that Nikon UK has just informed me that it is going to costs me about £230 to repair a sticking mirror. The camera is only 18 months old with about 9k to 10k shutter actuations, and it has been well cared for over that period (no heavy handling, drops etc).
I have owned cameras for many decades (Fuji (both of which are still working perfectly well 10 or 11 years later), Nikon (film), Pentax (Film), Praktica (film)) and so not a complete dumbo, and have never had an issue like this with a 'relatively new' camera.
Was I just lucky with the equipment I bought over the years, or did I 'misplace' my faith in modern Nikon equipment?
