CF vs XQD
A question for some D5 owners. I have seen the speed comparsions of the CF card version D5 cameras and the XQD versions. Everything is happening so fast, I find it hard to tell. But for most people who only shoot a burst of 20 or 30 shots, is there any real speed difference or any other differences in those two cameras? At 30 shots the buffers should be the same , shouldn't they? I have a D500 and have never shot more than ,maybe, 15 frames in one burst. Just looking for some info from the pros. Thanks

The biggest advantage of XQD is security. As for the physical card, it's shockproof, magnet proof, anti-static and because of a stronger shell - it won't bend or break easily. They are also electronically more stable, so the odds of corrupt files are very low.
Just my opinion, but for still photography the speed benefits of XQD don't really justify the price. If you shoot a lot of video or do pro work where download speed is more of a factor, then it might be worth it. But just for the buffer performance? Nah.Texas Thanks/liked this post

Not a D5 owner but a Z6 and I am not out running the buffer with my XQD card and I am not shooting any video to speak of and that is the reason I have not invested in CFexpress cards. I cannot see the benefit, especially given the added costs of these cards over XQD and the need for another reader. Maybe when pricing gets better. It would make sense, but right now I am sticking with what I have.
