How do you set up an Hot shoe with 2 umbrella lights for the d3200?

I'm having trouble getting the hot shoe to work.. Not sure what setting to have the camera on.....I have 2 umnbrellla lights set up with the sync plugged in with the hot shoe on the camera... Cant get the test button on the hot shoe to trigger the other 2 lights...Im new at this so be kind...:) Thanks

There must have been instructions sheets that came with these. Read it. Since we have no idea of your camera settings, it's pretty difficult to guess what's not working in your situation.
You have to learn what you are doing.

which two umbrella lights ...old ones will have 300v on the contacts and not a good idea ...modern is a 5v signal ..the flash will work in all modes PASM if its turned on and communiating with your camera..are you using cables or remote triggers ?

Very helpfull which "it " is that then ?

Do the flashes fire on there built in test buttons ?
Do the flashes fire with the camera shutter ?
Is it just a button on your wiring that does not function?
