D3100 photo issue

Hello, Im new to the forum but not to photography. I have never had this issue happen to me prior, until this Sunday when it begun.

For starters these pictures were taken without flash. What is happening with my D3100 every other picture this happens. One will be normal (like the one to the left) and the other will come with the top half missing (like the one to the left). I am assuming it's a shutter issue. Does anyone know what is wrong with my d3100? and how i can about fixing it.

How long have you had the camera? Is it still under warranty?

I would say a little over 3 years

what is your current shutter count on the camera?

maybe it may be time for a cleaning, or shutter replacement?
