I checked every thing , I cleaned the sensor, changed ISO, shutter, aperture .. but the image comes out with noise, hazy and little dark in it at zoom in and out. Is the problem with the sensor or the 18-105mm lens isn't compatible with D3100 ??

Can you post up a picture that illustrates the problem for us, so we can see what you're seeing? We'll also need either the EXIF data or the conditions under which you took the picture (f stop, aperture, ISO).

Also, does the camera take good pictures with other lenses?

i tried it at 1/125 and 1/200 wiz flash but still noisy :( wizout flash too dark and the light indoor was very good .. i want to know is there a problem in any the lens or the cam. sensor ?? i know it's confusing :) but wt should i do ??

Shoot at 1/125 and 1/200 without flash and upload it. It is also slightly out of focus so try backing away just a little. Also shoot somewhere in bright light like outside in the sun and lets see how it looks.

From looking at that photo there does not appear to be any problem with your camera, or your lens. There ARE a few problems with your technique, however, assuming what you want is a clear, sharp photo.

The issue with that photo is that you are shooting at a relatively high ISO, and using a shutter speed to slow for hand-held shots. The light may look "very good" to your physical eye, but to get a really sharp photo in that light you are going to need to use a lower ISO, a longer shutter speed and, most likely, a tripod.

If you want to test the lens and camera to make sure both are working correctly take them outside, set the camera to AUTO, take some pictures and see what you get.

ISO 400 with the D3100 is pretty good. You really won't see that much noise there. Low light is the problem here.

why is 1/30 too low ....its a VR lens ? Try AF-S so you can have focus control not some average thing ...the shots look ok to me ...adjust in lightroom or other software to your taste.....did you pull the sharpness up in the menu to +6 and are you on Large?? High iso noise reduction ON etc

If you can't recognize motion blur in a photograph, why should we believe your advice?

1/30 sec at 105mm even with VR on and handheld in my opinion would be luck if you got a shot with no motion. You might get it 1 time out of 5 but not on a consistent basis. Better off to shoot it faster with a higher ISO and at least get a sharp but noisier photo. Better still get more light on the subject with a bounced flash.

i tried every way to avoid the fuzy and the noise .. don't think that idon't know how to take a photo :) , the problem is the sharpness comes wiz f\8 & above and you know wt is meant by it .. i don't know wt to do .. i use tripod at night at low shutter but i still think that the 18-55 is more sharpness and less noise than the 18-105 ,
and the problem i can't find any solution to it :S ,
