How many here are still shooting with
The D3000 or the D5000. Seems like these two Camera's never had a chance before the upgraded models came out.
I have both.

I use my D5000 every chance I get I truly love this camera and what I have learned to do with it. I do have to admit I have gotten some really good tips from all my Nikonite pals. all the information you have provided is wonderful. This will always be my number one choice until I become more advanced and branch out to greater photography adventures.

I just got my D3000 last year and love it! I had a Minolta SRT-201 from 1978-1992 (or so) that was my favorite camera. After that one stopped working I didn't have the money for another SLR and tried a few point and shoot film and digital cameras along the way and I was just never happy with any of them. I finally decided to spend the extra money for the D3000 and am so happy I did. I love having the option to go fully manual although I admit that most of the time I use aperture priority. I am really trying to learn more about the art of photography itself this time rather than just shooting a lot of pictures with a fancy camera! This website is so helpful and inspiring!

Darlene you made me think about my 32 year old Minolta XG7 that froze up on me last June. Broke my heart when that happened since so many memories were captured with that camera.
I decided to dig it out one last time to see if I could figure out why the shutter would not open or why it would not advance film.
What a shock when I turned it on and pressed the shutter release button and it was free!!!!
Didn't even have a roll of film for it but my wife happened to have a few buried away in a dresser drawer with her old point and shoot 35mm.
The old Minolta was a little sluggish but managed to function through a 24 exposures roll of Kodak 400 film. How strange it is to even use words like Kodak and film in a digital forum. I am not even sure where to take the film to get it developed??
ThanksKen

Cameras don't matter! As long as it is a Nikon!
