I took his old D3s (shutter was replaced last year) Im happy but also a bit sad. the D600 had great resolving power. but those huge file sizes were never useable and slowed down my editing workflow. its something you want to have, but never had the need for it. the clients pcs were having a hard time viewing them as well. so as much as I would like to have its not realistic in the wedding world. I get high iso capability and thats a plus. when My d3 was in repair, I used this D3s and man was it fun to shoot at iso 8000 on the dance floor. it looked like iso 4000 on the D3 (which I also have) the only loss is the D600 1080p video which I would like to have since I do plan on getting into videography as well. I can make more money beeing able to do both. after coming back into the wedding industry again (2013) I decided I will no longer do private wedding but will be a freelance photog for other photogs. much more profitable for me. less headaches less running around. I stay hot since I shoot a lot of weddings.
happy but I also lost a little. but hes my best friend. if I ever need the 1080p (yes the D3s does 720p I know) I can always borrwo the D600. also smartphones do a decent job for video (not for weddings obviously)
well its done. he took the D600 because he wants to sell his nex6 and lens set. he wants it for his vacations. but the D600 will give superior IQ and he can just take 3 primes and get the images he needs with his 20/50/85 and use dx if he needs reach.
