Accessories for D700

You should be able to find this information in the propaganda that came with your camera, but if you didn't get it for some reason you might want to go to the Nikon website and inquire. Lens and accessories are well defined for us.

There's a lot to choose from. I have a question I have several lenses but am looking at a 35mm to do portraits of infants. Any recommendations? I love wide apperature's and blowing out the background just not sure which lens to get. I could go crazy buying every Nikon Lens ever. How do you know which one. I have made some really good choices on my lens purchases and two really bad ones so I don't want to screw up again. I think the question is what lens and what accessories are the best for what? Would appreciate help.

Hi Christy, First let me say that i have visited your website .... you are a very talented photographer! I have had my D700 w/grip for just about a year now and have coupled it with a 70-200mm VR 2.8 lens as my 'work horse' lens. This is a hek of a combination that you might consider. I also recommend the use of a good tripod and a remote shutter release. I also carry a 50mm, 28mm, an 18 - 55mm (junk lens used for snap shots only) and a 2X TC. My goal is an 85mm or a 105mm, both have been recommended as potential portrait lenses.... what ever you decide remember that you get exactly what you pay for - so buy the best you can afford. Good Luck, Dave

Why thank you very much. I appreciate your response. I also have the 24-70mm VR 2.8 I have the 85mm too love it. Was looking for a really good 35mm but Nikon only has a manual focus fast one. Not sure if I'll like that. How about your 28mm? Is it fast?

My 28mm 2.8 is plenty fast for me, but it really depends on how you use it. I'm old and slow so I need a lens to follow in my foot steps. I mainly use the lens for auto interiors and for close-up engine shots where low light conditions may exist .. It's AF and is a 'D' lens... great for FX format cameras.
