I need some Help

I've been trying to read about this & get a move on for a while but have been totally unsuccessful
I am looking to create a logo (Or have one created) but i have no clue how to go about this.
In fact, i really need help with ideas for the design of the logo...
And to design the logo as well...
I don't have the faintest idea about Photoshop, etc but am willing to learn if anyone can point me in the right direction...
Planning to start a website/blog & would like a logo to go with

Well, first you have to decide what you want your logo to say. How will it be used? A simple logo like Volkswagen's?



Or something more complicated?

Personally, I believe SIMPLE is best. The most recognized logos in the world are incredibly simple.

That's part of the problem.. i am quite unsure how i want it to be!
Absolutely no idea about design & what to use where, if something is better or worse for a photography logo.. you know the home work bit...

You can use your initials, your full name stylized, or some type of graphic. You've got some thinkin' to do.

So that's done with step 1

I agree with Ted, very simple, which also helps with printing. I wanted one at one point. Millions of photographers use some kind of camera/lens/aperture symbol and after looking at a a ton of them they all seem the same. That is why I just use my domain name, thats where I want them to go anyway.

Look at Nike, they don't use a shoe!

Something that is recognizable instantly. If you have to "read" it, you've missed the target. Have you ever driven down a highway and seen a billboard that had so much information on it that you couldn't figure out who was advertising what? Simple is: See me; Buy me.

Here are some ideas when you Google "white light". You don't have to copy them exactly, but you can use them as ideas and a starting point for what you want. I used to be a trainer, and my training trainer taught me to always use the CASE System...... Copy And Steal Everything. There aren't many original ideas left in the world. If it's not copy righted, it's yours.

I've got some ideas which may work. I'll see if I have a couple mins tomorrow to run them through illustrator and post them for you.

This is what I saw when i heard the name.
Sorry for the presentation. I don't have access to illustrator at home so I did it via remote desktop on my mobile, connecting to my work pc.

Not a problem... I enjoy it and it really was a 5 min quick mockup. I'll try and clean it up a bit, perhaps give it some depth. Make it more inline with what I imagined to be.
