What is the Size of Your Monitor?

I use a the 15.6" screen of my laptop for all of my processing.

I am thinking about getting an additional 22-24" external monitor.

Do you think a larger monitor will make processing more accurate or easier?

Thanks.

I have a 24" and love it for processing. I did contemplate a 27" but space was also a consideration. Make sure you get a good monitor calibrator so you see what you'll get from a print. I use a Spyder Pro.

OK...... I'm going to look at a larger monitor to use and I'm going to increase my RAM from 3 to possibly 8.

Calibration kinda takes the "surprise factor" out of the process..... but I'll still be sure to follow up.

Thanks.

I have a 24'' HD and love it. I've eye-ball calibrated it to my printer and my prints come out pretty darn close to the monitor image but would like to have it calibrated mechanically. You know what I'd really like now is a Wacom Intuos5 tablet. I've used one before and awesome. Not that most of us would use it that often but when you need it you'll be glad to have one.

I thought size didn't matter?

Seriously, like Bill I love my 24" monitor for editing. I didn't have room for a 27" but this one is just perfect.

I've spent a lot of time researching monitors. It can drive you crazy. One thing that you should pay attention to while shopping for a monitor is the panel used. Read this for an explanation of why the panel is important.

LCD Panel Technology - S-IPS, VA, Super PLS and TN Monitors

As you can see, a non-TN panel is preferred for image editing. But if you decide to go with a TN panel monitor don't settle for anything less than 16.7 million colors. In most cases this at least gives you a monitor that can simulate 8-bit rendering.

BTW, this explains why Apple monitors aren't cheap. ;)

I use both my 15inch and 17inch MBP depending on where I am. Would love a proper sized screen and Mac but they will have to wait until I get back from Africa in March 2013.

I have dual 22" monitors great for opening on 1 and processing on the other side by side, I would die with out 2 monitors.
