So Santa also put a new mini-PC under the tree for me. An ASUS T102HA. It is Windows 10, with a 10" removable touch screen. Sort of a cross between a tablet and Windows laptop. Pictured here on a real laptop - my 17" ASUS ROG gaming laptop which is great - and 'semi-portable' in that it is easily carried about in it's own case but you need to set it up on a table, it isn't really a lap friendly laptop. Could never use it on a plane or other transport, even at a meeting it is a bit overwhelming. Hence the idea of a smaller, much smaller laptop. This one replaces an old 10" ASUS transformer tablet which is an android unit. It still works but cannot handle the new android op systems so is becoming very obsolete.
I'm looking for lightweight but effective photo software for my new system. It has 4GB RAM and a 128GB SSD but no hard drive. It sports USB3 port so an external hard-drive works for storing photos. and an micro-SD adds more storage options (looked at a 128 but ouch too much, had a spare 32GB micro so that is what is in it for now.
I've loaded Nikons Capture NX-D, GIMP (which I will learn- really I will) and PicsArt. And a couple of other simple apps from the MS App store. All freebies.
