Just watched a video on the new selection and mask tools. Looks very interesting. I'm updating PS as we speak, but if I start playing with it now, I'll never get any sleep tonight.
Prerequisite: Enable the graphics processor
As a prerequisite to using Face-aware Liquify functionality, ensure that the graphics processor is enabled in your Photoshop preferences.
Choose Edit > Preferences > Performance.
In the Graphics Processor Settings area, select Use Graphics Processor.
Click Advanced Settings. Ensure that Use Graphics Processor To Accelerate Computation is selected.
Click OK.
One of the features I wanted is how the Liquify tool can do facial recognition and will automatically apply some of the changes simply by moving sliders. However, in order for it to work, the graphics processor needs to be enabled as well as enabling another setting. Here is what is listed on Adobe's web site. Once I followed the instructions, it worked. I had a lot of fun making people's mouths open and close.
The info above comes from this link:

It was pretty entertaining watching Scott Kelby play with the tool. :beguiled:
Just watched that video, and I'm impressed. Just updating Photoshop now so I can test it out.
There are several threads on Adobe forums claiming that new Photoshop partially breaks NIK collection. This is a big deal for me, as I use NIK tools every day. I cannot imagine processing my photos without NIK tools.
On person claims that Analogue Efex and Sharpener stopped working entirely. There are a few independent claims that in Color Efex (and perhaps other tools) applying brush is not functional anymore.
This was my worry since Google made NIK free. They abandoned it and NIK will gradually become non-functional with new versions of Photoshop.
I'm very disappointed. I will have to stay with the previous version of Photoshop forever. And I have to pay Adobe for this every month.
I had problems with nik collections and the new photoshop,
After updating Photoshop, the nik collections plugins disappeared, to cut a along story short and a few day of headache's, I copied the nik collections folder into the adobe cc 2015.5 plugin folder and all working again.
You can prepare filters in Color Efex (and other tools) and then apply them selectively using this brush:

The reports I read say it doesn't work.

Seriously? No "brushes" in NIK??!! Wow... This totally sucks.Just tried it, and as soon as I click on the brush, Color Efex closes and goes back to photoshop.
FYI, if you haven't installed yet, save yourselves a bunch of time and copy your Plug-ins folder from the old version to somewhere else, install, and then copy the contents of the folder to the new location. Nik is the only one I had to reinstall - Topaz, On1, DxOMark, ... they all work fine.
