Find Photoshop in your "All Apps" list then click and drag the icon to your desktop.

Hmmmm... Well you have click on the icon and, while holding down the mouse button, drrrrrag the icon to your desktop. As soon as you start to drag it, you should see "shadow copy" of the PS icon moving alongside your cursor. I'm doing it now and it's working for me just fine...

Okay, here's the official Microsoft response... Bit of a headscratcher if you ask me that you have to do it this way, but this is what they say:

Drag while right click is pressed. After move select "create a shortcut" option.

What I did, was to right click on the app and click "add to taskbar"

And it will be there on the taskbar.

You can also use file manager to open the location of the executable file, then right click on it to create a desktop shortcut. Just another way to skin the cat. (Although, as a cat owner, I hope folks elect not to take the cat skinning literally. )
