If you're looking for a quick way to import, tag and rate your images this may work for you. LR didn't seem to improve the import and build preview function all that much if you're using full sized previews, so if you've got a ton of images to cull through this may be a better option. Or if you're just looking for a decent RAW viewer this could work too.

It's got an interesting "Send to Lightroom 5" function, which I haven't played with. Not sure how that works and if it would play with Lightroom 6/CC, but if it can send a bunch of images tagged and rated to your current LR catalog with no need to import separately then it could serve as a pre-step in a LR workflow.

Anyway, it's free so it only costs you your time.

OK, I tried the "Send To..." function and chose Send To Other Apps, migrated to find LR CC and chose that. It took the current folder I was browsing in Perfect Browse and opened it in an Import dialogue in LR CC with the photos I had selecting in that folder checked for import and all others not. If you do this with a folder that has already been imported into LR then the Import engine will automatically eliminate photos already imported.

I don't think it has an Import module, but it has a Batch mode that can be used to copy files from a source to destination, so it can be set up to do the copy from your card to your file structure, or better yet a temporary folder you would then delete after importing in LR (in which you would choose Move in place of Add in the Import module). And I hear that it retains the stars and tags added in Perfect Browse.

Again, not a necessary if you have LR, but if you build full sized or smart previews on import this can save you some time if you're doing hundreds of images at a time. I may give it a shot for a while and see if it's an improvement when I do bird outings where my keeper rate is about 5%.

I received a license number from on1, for Perfect Browse 9.5 Premium. Downloaded the software, from fstoppers link, and directly from on1.

Norton 360, my AntiVirus software, removed it from my downloads folder both times. Norton said it was not safe. I can over ride the removal, however, Norton promises to curse all my descendants from this point on...lol.

Has anyone else had this problem?

yes, I got the same error, but went ahead and overrode it. The bigger problem was that it locked my laptop up so tight, I had to shut it down to kill it. I'm still debating whether I'm even going to keep it.

I emailed on1 support this morning (5-1-15) 5.29 AM, and received an answer at 11:12 AM.

My email to on1 support:

Thank you for offering Perfect Browse 9 free.

My antivirus program, Norton 360 will not allow me to install it, and immediately after download, deletes it.

Norton tells me Perfect Browse 9 Free is unsafe.

I would like to use it, and realize I can override Norton and go ahead and install it, however, other users (on Nikonites Photography Forum) tell me that the software causes their computer to lock up.

Not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Here is their response:

Trying it in Windows 8.1. Installs OK, but gives no options of where to install it, put itself in at least a couple of Windows folders. Moved it from there to an Applications disk, runs OK but doesn't fine any of its effects so of no use this way. Trying to sort that out when I have time.

Scanned with Aviva and no threats found.

I downloaded on1 Perfect Browse 9.5 Free, after disabling Norton. Software installed like a breeze, and seems to be operating as it should. Now to play with it...

Thanks to @BackdoorHippie for the heads up! Appreciate it, Jake.

I'm all about the free love. :)

Durn HIPPIES! LOL

As an FYI, I have the whole 9.5 suite and LOVE it, but I've never used Browse. I'm currently on the mind-numbing mission of getting rid of what I don't want to keep out of nearly 14,000 raw files. Can it help with THAT? HA!

I think I remember you saying, once before - browse, rate, delete... go until your mind is numb, then start where you left off again tomorrow.

I have 30 odd thousand to go through, think a few beers will help me on my days off.
