Portable hard drive

I was wandering if they make a storage device that you can transfer your sd card to while on the go.

Pros and cons.

I'd just buy a few extra SD cards personally.

Thanks i will have extra sd cards i was just thinking of backup for when I'm vacation. But for the price of them probably not worth it.

I just carry a laptop with me and download to that or an external hard drive. That way, I can get a start on the editing process as well.

I do the same as Whiskeyman, I always have my laptop when I'm on vacation as well. I also have drop box installed on all my computers and my tablet. So once I download to my laptop it is sent to my tablet and home PC automatically so it's backed up as well. I was interested in those portable storage devices in the past as well. But the price is ludicrous.

As you can see those kinda devices are expensive...
Cheaper is extra SD cards and if you have a tablet or laptop type device you can easily back up onto there.

Online services like DropBox are a great idea if you're on holiday - should the worse happen and your portable device get stolen, lost, etc, at least you have an online version to fall back on.
