Viewing Nikon-specific Exif on ipad or Android tablet

Hi

First post here. I have a D5200 with a few lenses - my favorite is the the Nikkor 18-200mm for it's convenience.

I do a bit of travelling, and want to take a Tablet computer with me to view and sort photos, and maybe some basic edit like cropping.
I won't take a laptop, I've done this before and in conjunction with my camera and lenses it just gets too heavy.

One thing I really want to do is view the Nikon-specific exif info- such as the picture control settings - so I can fine tune my technique for different scenes.

The only program I have found which shows this info is ViewNX.

I'm wondering if there is a way to get viewnx on either Ipad or on an Android tablet? If not, can someone recommend a program which runs on these operating systems which displays the picture control info?

Thanks
David

Thanks Don

Can anyone confirm that this app can identify the specific Nikon info. I have tried a bunch of exif apps on Windows PCs and a windows 8 tablet and they all read the basic stuff, but not the Nikon specific info.

I have no idea what you are taking about by Nikon specific EXIF.. EXIF is pretty much the same on all cameras

No, they are not all the same. There is a Manufacturers Notes section which contains some of the best stuff. Many of the Exif utilities are too far out of date to still be much value for the newer cameras. The best one for Windows for Nikon is here:
ExifTool by Phil Harvey

This is a command line program. A good GUI Interface that can operate it is
Latest ExiftoolGUI version 5.15

One way is to make a desktop icon for it, and drag the image onto it. Or it can open folders.

There a some websites you can just upload the picture to them and it gives you all the data. Not sure off hand, but never used an Android tablet. Apple only here... well... except my desktop. haha

Thanks for the responses.

The stuff i really want to see is in the manufacturer specific section, and the generic exif readers only show the common info.

I often will not be in internet range when I'm trying to analyze my photos, so online won't help.

I looked at the Phil Harvey program, but I'm not sure if I can this program on either apple or Android - i couldn't find anything to indicate how to run perl on either of these systems.

At the moment I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying a specific tablet which will do what I want. I've tried running the ViewNx program on a friends Windows 8 tablet. The program works, but windows 8 on a tablet really sucks. it is a lot less user friendly than android or apple.
