OK how do i uninstall ViewNX2. Went to finder and sent ViewNX2 to the trash. And then emptied trash.
So it removed it from finder .
But on the Dock the ViewNX2 symbol is still there.
So I click on it and of course ViewNX2 comes up.
So what I'm doing wrong to uninstall it so I can reinstall it?
Of course on a MacBook Pro O.S. 10.8.4
Thanks

Does the account you're using when doing this have Administrative rights? I'm not a huge Mac guy, but as I recall you do need to have that to delete an application. I also thought using Command+Delete on an application's icon would remove an application to the trash but it's been a while since I used a Mac much.

Just as FredKingston said but you also have to remove it from the dock as well. I assume you have to remove it from the dock first and then delete the program by following FredKingstons advice.

Just deleting the app won't do it... there could/would be other associated files too
View NX2 has an uninstaller of it's own.. run that

alternately, download an app called 'app cleaner'.
it's freeware
in applications tab, choose View NX2 and hit search.
it'll pull up some files. delete them all

As posted elsewhere you need the Nikon dedicated PrefSweeper.

You also need to get rid of all versions of Transfer.

Donald,

Is your problem cured??

Or are you just not using Transfer??

Transfer will work OK for you as long as you have the current version and all previous versions are completely uninstalled using PrefSweeper.

There is something there cause when I removed all the ViewNX2 stuff and tried reinstalling it the same problem comes up.
So it isn't completely uninstalled I'm thinking.

See I downloaded it on a PC. And it worked.
The problem with it on the mac is that NikonImageSpace is not on the ViewNX2 on the left hand side like it should be.
Its no where to be seen.
So this is why its not working on the MacBook.

Need help! I'm running a Win 10 machine with View NX2 on it, have a D810 and of course there are issues where ViewNX2 crashes so Nikon directed me to ViewNXi, fine. I am unable to install ViewNXi because it tells me that ViewNX2 is still installed and it wants to remove it. I've done the following and still cannot get ViewNXi to see that ViewNX2 is gone.

1. Used NX2's uninstaller, it left behind tons of stuff in registry, no dice. Reinstalled NX2.
2. Used Revo uninstaller pro and it caught all of what I think can be there. Restarted computer and tried fresh install of NXi and it still says it sees NX2.

HELP!!!

You'll probably need to go through the registry and delete anything it left behind after deleting, and then try to reinstall.

But messing with the registry manually is something that must be done with extreme care. Delete the wrong thing, and you're really in trouble.

Sometimes even registry software can miss stuff. You may have to delete stuff manually.

I don't use NXi, so I don't know how it installs.
