puzzle, how to make a tablet work in place of a computer?

I have an interesting delema. I don't have a working computer right now, and it might be some time until I do. But I do have a tablet, and the question is how to make it work for my photos?
I'm sure I can upload photos from this tablet, but can a tablet handle photos strait from a nikon? I'm talking size of the files,and compatability between a nikon D3100 and a xoom tablet.
