TC20E II 2X Teleconverter Compatability

I'm considering purchasing the new 28 - 300mm VR f3.5 lens that Nikon will release in early September. Since I have recently purchased a TC20E II X2 Teleconverter for use with my 70 -200 VR f2.8 I need to know if it will be compatible with the new lens. I have reviewed the release notices, and the Nikon Web site and haven't found the answer. Do any of you know? and/or can you recommend a source for me to further research? Please let me know... and thanks!

Thanks Essence ... you need to hold my hand on this one. I am not seeing what you are seeing re compatibility .... please point to the page where you found the answer. I might sell my 70 -200 mm and will sell the TC as well if it's not going to work with the new lens. Thanks for your help.

if you've downloaded the 7.1MB pdf file (shown as a download link below the lens) and go to page 14 of the pdf document (look for the teleconverters on brochure page 26) down below the teleconverters, in the fine print the brochure lists all the lenses that are compatible with the teleconverters.

-Hope this helps.

I have ordered the 28-300mm lens and when checking its delivery status today I discussed the teleconverter with the assistant. The TC is indeed not compatible with the lens as the max f is 3.5, apparently the images would be grossly underexposed ... so that's the word. Is anyone using the TC with their 18-200mm DX lens? If so, what are you seeing? The reason I checked is that Nikon may not have all of its brochures up to date. Thanks Essence I appreciate you looking into this as well.
