Are you going off the Tamron ?

Up until my visit this morning to the dealers i was all set to get the Tamron sorted, after our chat from what he didnt say and the way he said the things he did say,i got the feeling there may not be a cure for the focus freeze, it may go back and i will jump ship back to Sigma.

The Sigma contemporary is in the hands of Canon shooters, first problem reported on a forum it refuses to focus on occasion :D this report says its when the user is trying for a big jump in focus distance,it just sits there and refuse to hunt or anything,he has tried two copy's.

Comparison between Tamron 150-600 and Sigma 150-600 C at 600 mm. The original text is in Korean, this is Google translation (not very good). Unless the person who did this comparison screwed something up (e.g. neglected Tamron's focus fine tuning), the Sigma beats the Tamron hands down, especially in the corners.

I think something is wrong with this comparison the difference is stark.
Like you say the Tamron might not have had the fine tuning set up.

The Tamron seems good in many of the shots I have seen on here but have not seen many Sigma comparisons so far.

Certainly makes you hesitate.

I have a few samples from the c version that a member from another forum put on,lets put it this way they didn't impress me,they where however taken as jpegs and uploaded they lacked contrast and IQ though those two could be related, will need to see more.

The quality also depends upon the cam used. That's true for the Tam too. When I shoot the lens at highest quality with the D750 or D810, the results are pretty different. The same goes for the aperture I pick.

It's hard to look at some shots and value a lens according to those.

They look really good but i havent put any thought into if they are better or not,i have had results from the Tamron that show most of the time i dont live up to its ability anyway :D

Hi,

I have seen marveloes pics, made with this Sigma 150-600 Contemporary. :playful:
But all taken wit Canon cams...

when will the Nikon version be available?
I'm waiting for it, I want to try this lens myself, I want to make a choice between the Tamron or Sima myself.
Even Sigma Benelux (Europe) isn't answering my question, damn... :sour:

I asked one of the shops in the UK and this was their answer:

"Thank you for emailing in. At the moment the only information we have is that the lenses in the Nikon fit will be due in May but are unable to supply a specific date. I would envisage a date more towards the end of the month."
