I start now to use my different lenses to do photography. A 40mm and a 55-300 thread is already running. Now I decided to to a 50mm 1.8g on my D5100 as well.

I just walked a bit in my neighborhood an hour ago or so. So snaps are getting posted now. I hope that the thread will be "Away from Snaps" soon.

So Michael what do you think of your lens?

You know I got this lens a year ago used it a bit. But through looking some threads of members here I felt that I just need to use my gear to do something better and don't need buy new things.

Now I think the 50mm is a great lens. Don't need buy a 35mm. (Not Now). And I have to say that I got such inspiration looking at photos in this forum that my motivation is 110% now. Thanks all members who are sharing their photos and opinions.

The last one from this specific walk-around. I now that I need more practice to use that 50mm1.8g better. But I am happy that no crop or straighten have bin done. All are JPEG's and fine shots. This means for me that I can focus now more on the subject. I hope that I am able to use this lens in street photography and need not to but the 35mm 1.8, what is not a problem if I need to do.

Makruk is the most widely played game in Thailand. It is played on street corners and in shops, with sets made of shells and bottle caps or intricately carved wood or stone pieces.

you absolutely should. Everyone needs a nifty fifty. You will find countless uses for it.
Trouble is Ron I was in the market for either a 50mm or a 35mm and after shooting with my feet for a week on each (probably should have done a month) decided the 35mm was the one for me. I can live with that.
I am doing my first band shoot in a pub tonight and will be using the 35mm. Kinda excited but nervous too in case I let my mate down. I need at least one shot for my 365 and have taken my tripod in case I bomb. I can then stop and take a night shot on the way home if needs be.

Well the 35 will do better indoors for you but at some point you are going to succumb to the lure of the 50mm in one or the other of it's manifestations. D or G, l.8 or l.4 but one of them for sure.

Khor, a man from Cambodia, is working at a neighbors house. He is 38 and got 4 children. He came here for a short time to get some money. In his country he has now no work.

This is his sister, Noi, 27 of age and one child but no husband. She helps him. They are a team

This is their cousin Rang. He sometimes joins to work with Khor and Noi. He is 25 single and he calls himself a playboy.

Michael, you have some great street portraits. If I may suggest, cut down all that extra at the top. Too much dead space above their heads that's adding nothing. I cropped the image down to an 8x10 from the 8x12 format.

Moab Man, Thanks for your advice. I just did SOOC so I can see where my weakness is using primes. I think soon I can do street, with my 50mm, which is my target this year.
