Carguys weekly contributions

Figured it was time for this thread. There is no way I can produce a 365 and I'll do my best to meet the weekly standard I've just set for myself.

These are a few shots from the 2013 Detroit Autorama. I re-edited them in Lightroom 4.4 last night using some advice from another Lightroom thread I hijacked

Thanks for the continued advice.

I took these with my 18-105mm.

Haaaa Thank you. Many more car shots on my Flickr (link in sig), but fair warning, many were taken before I ventured off-auto this past January :D

HaHa! I think it's funny, especially since I'm one of those who take those "cute" cat photos. :) I like cool cars, too.

Finally put some new gear to use. Looks like I need a white background.

Neewer TT560 at 1/8 power shooting through an umbrella on camera right. About 3 feet from subject.
Silver reflector on camera right very close to subject.

1/100
f2.8
ISO 200
50mm 1.8G

Post processing seems a bit off (again, still working on that). Appreciate any tips.

I was playing around with your image and I think a little warmth and saturation/vibrance seemed to bring it out a bit. (I hope you don't mind).
Edit - I also added a little contrast via the tone curve

First time using the speedlites outside. Not the coolest car, but after a quick wash it served the purpose :D

Going over these again this morning, Looks like I need more light on the vehicle.
What about the angle of the image? I like the angle of the third image, I was laying on the ground.
Do these shots tend to look better from a higher angle?

Thanks.

I agree, you need more light on the vehicle. I always think it's just my monitor. As far as angle, what are you trying to achieve? Maybe show more of the front of the vehicle like you sorta did in the first and third shots.
