I'm also interested in getting a decent ball head. Arca Swiss is way above what I'd wish to pay for a tripod head, so I looked at Benro. The range of heads they make is overwhelming and I couldn't find any good guide to it. According to Benro website they make at least 9 series of ball heads:

B, BH, BR, G, IB, IH, IN, KB and V

I'm completely lost in this. Can anyone give a recommendation?

If its for you 150-600 have you considered a gimbal,get the balance right and there are no knobs to tighten or undo.

Going to give the Benro V3E head a try. It's a little higher weight rated than the B0, more comparable to the rating of the Manfrotto head it replaces, but we'll see how she does.

Looks good, always wise to go heavier with ball heads

Add the weight of the heaviest combo you will ever use and select a head rated for at least twice that weight.

There are several models in each series with different weight rating. I'm not sure which series to chose, as Benro don't explain them on their web page.

I've seen this tripod head pop up in a couple of discussions. Haven't used it, but might be worth a look? Can't believe it's so cheap for an aluminum head.
