Question about changing a setting in the shooting menu

Lol, this thread is a blast from the past!

I put my D3100 back in service after a year and a half of sitting around.
I forgot about the joys of menu diving. It's still a good camera despite it's age.

I have a D610 and I have found that if a menu option is `greyed out`, I just format the SD card and it allows me then to make adjustments in the menu.
