Here are a couple more from the same late afternoon photos as above, with the direct sun just 10 degrees or so above the horizon so shadows were hard.

Tried doing a search on this site on restoring old photos, mold that one was interesting but I'll post it in portrait its an image I did not take and the image was taken in the late 20's and no photographer listed on the back. It has some mold so I scanned it with an Epson V500 Photo kept it the same size as there is a paper "finish".
I used Photoshop 90% and 10% in Affinity Photo software for the scanner is Silverfast 8.

Dan_Dad_2wn.jpg retouched clone brush, add 2% noise and used frequency separation Dan_Dad_2w.jpg
The man standing is my uncle and sitting is my dad who was a heavy smoker quit cold turkey in the mid 1950's and lived to be 98.

Some shots over the last year of our baby boy Lincoln. I had to rob these from my FB profile so the resolution, compression, and color rendition is likely a bit off.

One from a shoot last week.

Taken on the D850 with an 85mm 1.8, I SERIOUSLY love this lens !!

Lighting was the Rotolight Anova PRO 2

Granddaughter upside down on the hammock, makes for an interesting lighting coming from under (the shot has been rotated 180 degrees).

One from a workshop I was hosting on Saturday, Lit with a Rotolight AEOS on the left and a NEO 2 on the right.

The flare was from a prism in front of the lens.

Fall is here so I took the D800 with new 15-30 2.8 and a few other lenses for a walk in one of the 320 parks in this city while taking foliage photos in the afternoon a girl asked me to take a photo with her phone and I said it was too complicated (so many phones and shutter activation methods) but I could take some with my camera. The first 3 are with the 70-200 at 120-170mm 2.8 and the last is 85 1.8 I took several with the 86 but now of them are sharp. I had forgotten that I had reset the camera that cleared the lens fine tuning. We talked over tea about doing some more with lighting in a week or so. All the full-length shots were blurry due to the fine-tuning data for the 85 was missing.

When I get an email that says "New post in Portrait Shots", I normally wait until my next natural visit to this site to check out the new shots.

When I get an email that says, "SPB-Stan has a new post in Portrait Shots", I hit the link immediately!

Thank you for the comment. I enjoy meeting strangers when I have my camera, it is a very social activity. I doubt I have gone to an event, club or park here and not met someone very interesting in many years. The girl, Marina, just got off the phone and we made plans to do a studio play day with her 2 girlfriends. It will be fun. Although she is rather attractive, her voice is what struck me first when she asked me to take her photo with her phone. Her voice was like beautiful music, and it caused me to ask if she was a singer. She said she only sang when with her girlfriends or when doing housework...more photos to come next week with her two girlfriends.
Here are two from a couple nights ago, going out to dinner with two friends I met taking photos of a theater event. Both of these with a single flash, the second one with a small grid on the face of the flash head to control spill because we were in a crowded restaurant. The 1st shot was out on the parking area/courtyard with the other girl holding the flash with Yongnuo 622 and 622 Tx controller
