I just love this" post your favorite shot" thread. I don't have enough time in the day to enjoy everyone's fabulous shots, but this is a good way to at least see the best of the best.

I'll post two, also. My mother-in-law died July 5th after more than two years fighting pancreatic cancer, and some good friends sent over these flowers. This shot was in our kitchen, and it just came out in a way that I liked and at the same time is a reminder of what happened..
Then later my wife decided to wash the dogs one weekend, during a really tough month for her, and I went out with the D800 and 70-200mm 2.8 to record the event. I didn't frame this exactly right but had to act fast when I realized what the dog was going to do:
