More like a takeoff but wings are spread :p ...pity I couldnt get it clearer but I kinda like it..and the little guys are hard to nail down

Wish I could have pulled a little more detail out of the Black part of the Turkey Vulture's body, but then the lighter outer feathers looked terrible. This was taken with a D7000 with 50mm f/1.8 then cropped in close. Was taking pictures of the ice coated trees earlier today and the bird just flew by, so I took a quick one. Would have been better to have been using a longer lens, but no time to switch.

Sorry guys -- just realized I've posted these in the wrong thread. I think 'bird-brain' would be the appropriate adjective. If the moderator has a few seconds, perhaps these post can be shifted to Birds!
