My beloved wife's new hobby is looming. She is so great in it. In our neighborhood, at my daughter's school lots of people order thing such as bracelets, key rings, etc..

When I was a kid, we had a square metal loom with larger bands, and we wove pot holders. Looming bracelets like you mentioned is very popular with the kids here in the US, too...they love friendship bracelets. Nice dolls! :)
