Sorry if this has been put up before.
I placed a silicone rubber wrist band on the lens of my camera to show support for the son of a very good friend. I found that it completely stopped lens creep. I now ad a wrist band to every zoom lens. I prefer it to the 'lock' as I can immediately still zoom with no issue at all. Walking, hiking, the band keeps the lens securely in the closed position but ready! Have used the same band on one camera/lens for years. Still works great. (showing band in lower left)
