What is the difference between a shot taken by wide angle lens (say @10-15 mm) and a panorama stitched by shots taken by normal lens (say kit lens @18 mm)?
Often it is said that one should focus on eyes of wild animals.
But say I focused on a bull's eye. Now if my frame, I could only see part of its body. If I now need to pan the camera to fit entire body, how can I still maintain focus in eyes (which does not fall in any focus points anymore)?
Can someone recommend me a good film to digital scanner?
I have seen some products in Amazon UK. Most have mixed reviews and price varies from £30-£100.
I am not too worried about quality.
Any recommendation based on personal experience of any of these products?
Sometimes I photos look soft. However, using Light Room, I find that same images can been sharpened quite dramatically.
How does LR do it? Does it actually alter the image or using special algorithm? I increased in-camera sharpness settings a bit but still I find that LR can make it more...
When I set ISO to auto, camera sometimes selects numbers like 2200, 1850 etc. These are not standard ISOs like 100/200/400/800/1600/3200/6400 etc. Is it only possible in auto ISO mode? When I try to select ISO manually I see that I could only select full multiple numbers.
On few occasions I shot photos which looked fine on camera LCD screen but when looked at computer screen they appear blurry or noisy.
Is there any way to detect such problems inside camera? I tried to zoom in and pan inside camera but still can't detect.
Is there any way to predict if flash will fire in any of the automatic modes like auto, portrait etc.?
Sometimes I feel there is enough light and flash just pops out :(
How do I make the camera shoot exactly what I see with my eyes?
That is, nothing specific in focus (or everything in focus) - just as I see the scene with my eyes.
What focal length and what camera settings will achieve this?
I am looking for a suitable superzoom for my D3100.
Nikon 18-200 VR and Tamron 18-270 PZD way above my budget.
So far I shortlisted following
Tamron AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical [IF] Macro (£151 at Amazon)
Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 II DC OS HSM (£254 at Amazon)
I understand...
This long zoom lens is within my budget and I am thinking of buying it.
I read the standard reviews which Google brings on first page of search.
Looks like quite a mixed review. I understand it won't be super sharp but I am not a pixel peeper anyway :-)
Is there any obvious disadvantage to...
Do you keep it on or off?
I see that it was off by default but I turned it on. Didn't see much difference but I didn't really shoot graphs and charts :-)
Does this work with Nikon D3100?
Tamron AF 70-300mm F4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 Nikon+Motor
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tamron-AF-70-300mm-F4-5-6-Macro/dp/B0012UUP02/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I understand that it fits D3100 but will it auto focus?
I previously thought higher aperture is associated with better bokeh.
But after taking several shots with my 18-55 3.5-5.6 kit lens, I find that comperatively better bokeh is achieved when I shoot at 55 m with F/5.6!
I tried shooting at 18 mm with F/3.5 moving closer to the subject but found...
