April 2016 ... "Foolishness"

"Something that made you/others laugh" -- Let's escape all of the unhappiness in the world today and capture something that made you/others laugh. April 1st is April Fools Day, so what a great way to start out this month's challenge! Maybe a photo of a good prank. Maybe an act of being foolish in your technique of taking the photo, but please stay safe in your foolishness. Ha! Like Reader's Digest says, "Laughter is the best Medicine."

WHATEVER it is, this is the month to try to capture something that is playful, humorous or anything that gave you or others a chuckle. Share it with the rest of us, so we can all get a good laugh! You are limited only by your imagination.

There ya go, let's get shooting! CREATIVITY/TECHNIQUE rules in this challenge, but there are a few guidelines:

1. Any photo submitted for a monthly assignment must be taken using a Nikon Camera!

2. All submissions must be taken during the month specified in the assignment thread and taken by YOU! (Please insure that EXIF is either posted with the photo or if it gets messed up, hold yourself to the honor system and add the minimum Exif data of the Camera used and the date the photo was taken to your post)

2. Obviously, for this challenge, your photo must portray something "Foolish." Other than that, it's all up to your interpretation of the theme. Any photo will be accepted, SOOC or edited, doesn't matter.

3. Photos must be posted in this thread to be considered. Links to photos will not be considered an entry.

4. Only THREE entries per member for each assignment. Please post entries separately (1 photo per post) and number the entry.

5. Entries will be judged by the number of likes received.

6. The top 5 shots will be displayed in a separate thread, and will be displayed in no particular order.

7. This is intended to be a FUN challenge. No critiques unless specifically asked. Also, please limit posts to just photos and brief descriptions/titles. Any comments/discussion should occur elsewhere, PLEASE.

As listed in other challenges, please note: NO CASH OR PRIZES will be awarded for this Monthly Assignment.

HAVE FUN, can't wait to see the results!!

Wow, we get a whole extra month to do the assignment. Thanks. ;)

::what::  Just the month of April. It started at 0000 UTC April 1 and ends 0000 UTC May 1. We only need one month to be foolish. Ha!! I don't think we can stand two. :encouragement:

Quick question. Could be any Nikon? Even compact, like AW100? I like to use that for when I'm on the move and for macro. Also got my old D70 if I need to go DSLR.

"must be taken using a Nikon Camera!" not DLSR specific.

Nice photos.

That's an interesting idea. I have never heard of that.

Phil, for the record, which photo is your submission or do you want to split them up into separate posts for two entries? Thanks.
I have can not seem to be able to delete the post in order to re post as two posts. I would like to make first photo as entry #1.

This cake was in fact a Meat Loaf.

Reminds me of an idea with which I've been toying.

A recent find from my favorite thrift store is a “Hostess Twinkie maker”. An appliance, bearing the Hostess brand name, somewhat similar in general construction to something like a George Foreman Grill, but designed to cook objects in the size and shape of a Twinkie, which includes recipes for Twinkie batter and filling, and a device to inject filling into the finished cakes.

I've been thinking of trying to make something that looks like genuine Twinkies, but is completely savory, and not sweet at all; perhaps based on cornbread batter, and maybe with a cheese-based filling.
