Best lens for D50 to avoid chromatic aberrations?

So I take pictures of rugs on walls for work and upload them online, but lately the left side of the rugs will have this blur/chromatic aberration look to it while the other ride side will look crisp and nice. I have tried adding more light, changing the aperture, sensitivity, using a tripod, and while some progress has been made it still remains there. I think I need a new lens? I'm obviously noob and use the standard Nikkor 28-105mm lens but I was thinking maybe about the 18-55mm lens or a smaller wide angel lens? Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated thanks! To get an idea here is a link to a pic of what i'm talking about. It's not super blurry but it's still obvious enough and annoying to notice. http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/attachments/alternative-imaging-methods/6155d1202587709t-can-you-spot-chromatic-aberration-crazy35mmbrandon.jpg

Well I have a couple suggestions that may, or may not, work for you...

Chromatic Aberration (CA) is typically found at points where there is significant contrast. If there was some way to have a less-contrasting background, that would probably help prevent the CA from manifesting to begin with. The other thing is that CA is pretty easily corrected for during post processing. Are you shooting JPG or RAW and what software, if any, do you use for post processing your photos? Photoshop, or Lightroom, would probably knock out the CA I'm seeing in the photo you linked to with little more than a click or two of your mouse.

I believe JPG. I use Photoshop CS5. It appears on the top left side typically but I was hoping I could eliminate it before using any programs. Do you know of any lens that might help me compared to the 28-105mm I have? Thanks for replying.
