    Playtime

    Playtime
    Hi,

I was playing with my Z7 today...
I took my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens...
And my Sigma TC-1401 1.4x extender...
    And my Kenko 1.4x extender...
    et voilą...

I really have much fun with my Z7.
I like to play in this way... taking pics at 1176 mm (exif says 1200 mm) handheld...
With auto AF, quite fast... I think, useable...

That didn't work with my former D850.
Through the viewfinder, of course no AF.
Live view very, very, very slow.

This opens up new dimensions for me, something to explore more...
PS pics straight out of the camera, unedited (except the first Z7 overview, made with my phone...)

    Hi,
My second try. Now with good and sunny weather.
And these pics are not unprocessed.
I processed these pictures in a normal way through PS.

I made these pics from my living room behind the glass, distance about 7 meter....

These pics, of course, not in my garden...
In the nature surroundings, in my village where I live.

    Hi,
With one 1.4x extender it is F/9 max aperture.
With two 1.4x extenders it is becoming F/13 max.
Exif is on the Flickr site.

That is very interesting that the Z7 can focus with that effective aperture being so small. There will be diffraction as there would be if that aperture was from a single 1200mm lens so images will be softer but with sharpening in post will be quite acceptable. The Z7 has the advantage of using both Phase and Contrast focusing at the same time whereas the D850 uses only one depending on VF or LV mode. I have found the Z cameras to be more reliable for focus accuracy when using the EVF than any still DSLR I have used including my D850. When I put the single point FP on an eye for example in a portrait session is 100% dead on. With the DLSRs there is always the variable of focus tuning for that FL and distance, particularly with zoom lenses where you can only fine tune for 1 focal length.
Although I am having good luck with my Z6 with focusing we are all anxious to try the new AF firmware to be released next month that has Eye-AF and optimized tracking in AF-c modes in low light.
