On another forum a few BBF users are saying they have got better results in AF-C for birds in flight using the shutter button to focus, they say the focusing is more responsive, in combination with the wide-area focus the camera is more interested in the closest subject, which most of the time is what you want.

I have been using BBF forever. I do not know if I can switch back to the shutter button. But you know that there is one thing I learned working with programmers for 20 plus years. They focus their development on the way they THINK everyone uses the product. Variations get only cursory attention so that could very well be true. In my roll as the product development leader was to define the requirements but sometimes they listened and sometimes they didn't... sometimes I caught the misapplication and sometimes I didn't... That is when the customer finds it. Maybe this is one of those times.

I may have to try it out... not sure that I will like it though.. :)

Interesting. Might try this, but BBF is such a habit now that it will be hard to change, even if using the shutter button is more effective. :p
