I did a quick search and didn't find accessories for this camera that other users have bought. I thought I would ask here what other Nikon Z owners have gotten. So far for me I ordered:

L Plate: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q5XNQ3L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
3rd Party Batteries: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KRM3D6R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Screen Protector: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K41PYJH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anything else other owners could recommend? Thanks in advance!

I have bought a few things. I bought two L brackets. The first didn't work well. It was not cut correctly to fit my ARCA Swiss quick release. I ended up buying a Really Right Stuff L-Bracket. I have bought a few things like the screen protector and extra batteries. I stuck with Nikons, I am a bit paranoid about 3rd party batteries and new Nikon Cameras. The other accessory I bought was a Godox V1 Speed light.

Godox I got for my sony and should work well with the Z6. I have the AD200 and the 860 flash so I'm covered. Loving the Z6 ergonomics so far and love that the adapter works well with my sony lenses.

I am glad to hear that you enjoy the Z6. I think the ergonomics are better than the Sony, but being familiar with the Nikon menus, I never really looked at a Sony. The menus were just to different.

I am glad the adapter is working well for you also. That is pretty cool. I am going to just make my way to full Mirrorless and sell all my lenses and bodies except the 200-500 f5.6 eventually. I will hold on to my 70-200 f2.8 and 14-24 2.8 for a while, but everything else is going to go. I just hate selling stuff so it will be a little while getting it all together.

I picked up an Eye Cup for the Z6 this week it was a direct purchase from HoodEYE. I like it.

I had no idea they shared the same battery as many other Nikons including my D7100 & D750!
I've had great success using Wasabi batteries in my Fujifilm mirrorless cameras --- https://amzn.to/2U2kPMI

ooo that looks nice! Does it do a good job of blocking out more of the light from the sides? Right now I think my nose gets on the LCD screen a bit when I try to block out the light with my eye. lol.

It helps me with my Glasses. It also leaves more open area around that sensor that tells the camera that you are using the EVF. Opening up that area makes it easier to keep the sensor clear of dust and such. the only draw back that I have found is you have to take the eye cup off to remove the hot shoe protector and add a speed light or trigger. That is a bit of a pain but It is not a big deal to me. the improved seal is worth it. If I put the trigger or speedlight I do not do a lot of changing.

What do you think about this speedlight - SB-300? Sometimes I need a little fill-flash, but I do not want to haul around SB-800 for that.

Just looking at the manual for the Z6 it is very limited comparability. I never really considered that size flash and I use Godox now.

I recently purchased a Godox X2TN flash Trigger. It is the newest Godox trigger. It is also the only one that they have tested on th Z6 and Z7. I had the Godox Pro1 Trigger and it was not compatible.

Dan, is the X2TN the one that triggers the controller mounted AF assist light that works with Z bodies? There were reports that with a firmware update it worked. I could certainly benefit from that if it works. I have been very happy with my Yongnuo 622tx and 5 622n transceivers but would switch if the assist light works. I have a couple of the 968 Yonguo flash that have the video light and 4 channel controller and receiver built in. Of my 6 flashes, 3 are SB900 and the other 3 are Yongnuo so I would have to get 5-6 receivers to switch.

I have not confirmed it yet, but it is supposed to. It is a different configuration. I will let you know when I get it tested in the next day or so.

Hi. Got a sb-300. Small and works very well for what I am using it especially for traveling (it’s basically just to overcome situations where an integrated flash would help).

The Eye-cup is the only accessory I have seen that I want....that and the Kalt hand strap that I use on all my cameras and fits the little Z6. It takes all stressential from handholding durine long events when using a 70-200 02 15-30 2.8 Tamron

Stan, I tried the Godox X2TN trigger in low light and it does not trigger the inferred AF Assist on the trigger. It does work for every other situation but it fails like all the rest of the lights with regard to mirrorless.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have a terrible memory and sometimes it is worse than others. I also wish I had better news.

I just now noticed you answered. Thank you. There were early reports that one model of controller with a late firmware update got it to work but never saw another report. AF is so good in dim light that the assist light really is not needed. When I first got the camera I thought it would be a serious problem in dark scenes where flash was needed but in later firmware updates the Z6 has become my best low light camera, nailing AF even when it is dark enough that I can't make out much detail. Even in the studio if not using modeling lights and with narrow apertures it focuses well without an assist light. The green assist light on the body usually blocked with wider lenses even if it does trigger when in AF-S mode. In dance clubs I really needed it for AF in poor light with D850 and D800 so shot AF-S and hoped my subject did not move much. So now, using the Z6 it does fine in AF-C where there is no assist light.
