    Too sensitive EVF eye sensor

I have Z6 with the updated firmware. I set automatic switch between EVF and monitor. It looks that the eye sensor for the EVF is too sensitive. From time to time the automatic switching stops working and EVF gets stuck being active. The monitor stays off as if I keep looking through EVF, even when Iím trying to replay photos on the monitor. The only way to (temporarily) fix it is to remove the EVF eyepiece and wipe it and the sensor. After cleaning the switching between EVF and monitor works, but after some time is off again. If I set the mode to monitor only it works, but I really prefer the automatic switching.

Welcome, sorry to hear you are having problems, the Z7 was reported to on occasion display the same problem but not having one i never followed it up.

Some one said it had a sensitivity setting, some one else said it was caused by slight movement of the rubber eyepiece another dirt on the eye sensor, one said it was the overcomplicated menue setting making you miss something, he could have been a Canon fan boy though

    Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

It has to be under warranty, I would call Nikon ans see what they say.
